Approval of minutes

• Shamell Forbes made a motion to approve, Jennifer Chan seconded. The motion passed unanimously

Club Leadership Conference

• Ashley emailed a lot of clubs from Signature card emails.
• About 38 clubs have RSVP’s which could be about 60-80 people.
• We have posters, and David Mazza will hopefully put them up tonight.
• Club budgets will be frozen if they don’t talk to Ashley.
• Ashley spoke about the help she is going to need at the conference

Communications Report

• David Mazza has a new Assistant; Lucy Kang who was introduced at the beginning of the meeting. She is a web developer who is going to help hire a team for the office of communications.
• As of today, more than 250 students have joined SBUlife.
• John and David found a bunch of old documents, and those will be posted on the website.
• David has been talking with Isobel and SBUTV, one of our agencies about covering the Senate meetings again.
• David has also added an SSC form to the website, and a page about our legal services.
• Need to advertise Senate and Executive Council Meetings
• We should consider getting a weekly page in the Statesman

Alumni Career Workshops

• This Sunday from 1-4pm. Completely open to all students.

SUNY SA

• Aaron Benelyahoo, Tiffany Abrishamian are willing to go.
• Ashley Reji might go too.

Student Ball

• Friday Oct 23, 9-11pm. We have 10 spots

University Committees

• Shamell Forbes will join the Academic Planning and Resource Allocation Committee
• David Mazza will join the Computing and Communications Committee
• Ashley Reji will join the Student Life Committee along with Keith Tilley as a commuter. We need 5 people
• Administrative Review Committee

• University Affairs Committee – maybe Shamell
• We get 14 spots on the University Senate

Southampton Governor

• We should take a trip to Beautiful Southampton
• Jennifer will organize it
• Jasper appoints the Governor to their “Board of Finances”

State of the USG Address

• It will be during an advertised Senate meeting.
• SBUTV should cover it

SSC

• Mashouf needs to be able to pay his assistants. Volunteers don’t show up.
• We need to start planning to be able to fit it into Payroll. The Senate will need to deal with this.
• We should have Mashouf use the Advocate General to check out these clubs.
