Meeting called to order at 8:35 PM in Room 311 of the SAC

Executive VP John Kriscenski presiding

1.0 Attendance

A quorum is present.

2.0 Announcements

Executive VP Kriscenski made several announcements to the Senate.

-He thanked VP Reji for organizing a successful leadership day and for the help from President Pro Tempore Tilley, Senator Mbisike, Senator McCarthy and Senator Haq.

-Budget hearings started this past Tuesday.  Meetings will continue to be held next week.  All senators not serving on the Budget Committee must attend at least one meeting to fulfill their budget sub-committee requirement.

-Most Senator reports have been received and forwarded to VP Mazza.  Please submit them if you haven’t done so.

3.0 Approval of minutes from 10/01/09

Sen. Mbisike made a motion to correct the spelling of her name in Item 1.0.  Seconded and passed with no objections.  Sen. Graber made a motion to correct spelling of Treasure Anderson’s name in Item 1.0 as well as a minor grammatical correction.  Seconded and passed with no objections. Sen. Benelyahoo made a motion to approve the minutes as corrected.  Motion was seconded and passed with no objection.

4.0 Special Services Council Treasurer Confirmation

SSC Chair Mashouf presented Nick Huang for confirmation. Sen. Benelyahoo made a motion to approve Mr. Huang, seconded, after no debate a vote was taken and the motion carried (16-1-0).  Mr. Huang was approved as Special Services Council Treasurer.

5.0 Approval of Treasurer’s Assistant

Treasurer Anderson presented Alex Markow for confirmation as a Treasurer’s Assistant.

Mr. Markow briefly addressed the senate and took questions.   Sen. Kashan made a motion to approve Mr. Markow.  Seconded.  After no debate a vote was taken and the motion carried (16-0-1).  Mr. Markow was approved as a Treasurer’s Assistant.

6.0 Appropriations Act for USG Chairs – $879.43

Sen. Graber presented Act for chairs for Senate offices.  A discussion was held.

Sen. Tilley made motion to approve the appropriation.  Seconded.  After no debate a vote was taken and the motion carried unanimously (17-0-0)

7.0 Open Agenda

Sen. Benelyahoo mentioned trip to Binghamton for SUNY Assembly.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 pm.
