Meeting called to order at 7:18 PM, Executive VP Geeta Malieckal presiding

1.0 Attendance

A quorum is present. (19 members present)

2.0 Announcements

Executive VP mentioned no meeting in 2 weeks (4/30).  USG awards ceremony May 8 or 9^th.  Last senate meeting for the year will be May 7, 2009.

3.0 Minutes from 3/26/09

Sen. Potenza made a motion to approve the minutes.  Seconded.  After no debate, a vote was taken.  Motion #1 carried 19-0-0.

4.0 Emergency Grants

The Treasurer presented emergency grants to the senate.

-SAB $10,000

-Greeley Hall Council  $2,600

-Taiwanese Students Association $555

A discussion was held.  Sen. Schultz made a motion to approve the emergency grants.  Seconded.  After no debate, a vote was taken.  Motion #2 carried 17-1-1.

5.0 Elections Timeline

The Elections Chair distributed the Spring 2009 Elections timeline to the senate.  A discussion was held.  Sen. Anderson made a motion to change “USG Web-site”à “Solar”.  Seconded.  After no debate, a vote was taken.  Motion #3 carried 19-0-0.

6.0 Open Agenda

-Sen. Potenza made a plug for RHA event this Friday at 1 pm and masquerade ball Saturday night at 7 pm.

-Earthstock is tomorrow.
